Predrag DragosavacEditor, journalistPredrag Dragosavac is a journalist, writer and independent cultural activist from Belgrade, Serbia, from the end of 2012 based in Stockholm, and from March 2013 engaged in Global Reporting. Back home, Predrag has been in journalism since the end of 1996, covering a wide range of issues, but with particular emphasis on culture, cultural policies, intercultural encounters and transcultural phenomena. He entered journalism through the daily newspapers Blic and Glas javnosti, starting as reporter in the city section. During eight years in the daily newspapers he experienced most of the pleasures and curses that daily newspapers could provide; as a night reporter, cultural journalist, editor of the weekly pop culture supplement, and editor of the cultural section. He made an excursion to online journalism, but felt much more thrilled and fulfilled while confronting the microphone (for six years), as the author and host of bilingual (Serbo-Croatian/English) ‘infoteining’ radio shows Global Village and Brazilian Stew on Radio Belgrade 202. He was lecturing, translating, PR-ing, DJ-ing, organizing public discussions, readings, lectures, screenings, concerts and surviving freelancing in Serbia for several years. Predrag has lived in the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, the State Union of Serbia and Montenegro, the Republic of Serbia, but also in the United States and Brazil. He has Balkans as his obsession, love and curse, Brazil as a utopia, and Sweden as a new home. |
